This collective exists to serve, empower, uplift, support, challenge, develop, protect, honor Black womyn & femmes. As such, most of our work as a support (group) collective is meant to be INreach, but a portion of our work is definitely outreach to the community.
Community of Practice Educate- How do we develop & share collective
knowledge?
Support- How do we support those in the collective doing this work?
Activate-How do we operationalize our education & solutions?
Cultivate-How do we cultivate greater knowledge & solutions?
Integrate-How do we integrate the community into our work and share what we’ve learned?
Ecology means knowing, reading & understanding home(Eco)—and by definition, the relationships of home. So Ecological Justice is justice based on applied knowledge of home. It is how everything and everyone in this ecosystem = world ideally should co-exist just, equitably
& harmoniously together.
Our collective uses a “member-director” model meaning our members direct, inform and build out our work. This is why we encourage members to engage as much as possible because this collective belongs to you/to us. Co- organizers & Committees Working Groups are members who have volunteered to help implement and coordinate the work of the collective.

WWC’s Community of Practice seeks to (1) learn & teach how support & protect us (2) while
unapologetically centering our
Quality of Life and livelihoods.
“A theory of human behavior which conceptualizes that the problems of individuals and families [& communities] can not be understood in isolation from the economic, political, cultural, and historical conditions which give rise to them.” (Belkins-Martinez, 2014)
“[...]the intersection of racism, anti- Blackness, and misogyny that Black women experience. The term is specific to Black womanhood, as Misogynoir cannot be experienced by women of any other race, but can be perpetuated by people of any gender or race. Similarly, racialized misogyny towards Black trans women is called ‘transmisogynoir.’” (Dr. Moya Bailey, 2010)
A non-comprehensive map of the Interlocking Systems of Oppression that we face as people who experience marginalization.
Based on an updated version of bell hooks’ imperialist white- supremacist capitalist patriarchy
